Well, it appears Dave Sprague & Fred Ross will not be without
venison this winter! On Nov. 22nd. the two entered a small section of woods
off a major highway. The deer decided to exit those woods and across that
same highway. this one, right into the path of a 55 MPH Jeep.
David heard the screeching tires and the "gawd awful thud". Both hunter
went immediately to the scene to see if anyone was hurt and discovered
the only injury was the dead deer and vehicle damage! The driver did not
want the deer. Dave obtained a collision tag from the Sanford Police
and got this nice butter ball doe, in remarkable shape., without firing
a shot! What a hunt! ???

|
Jeremy Swisher 2003 - Fort Fairfield Maine
8 points with three other very close 1inch kickers in the back.
210 lbs dressed
|
The Buck has a split ear from what I assume was from
fighting. A couple kickers in the back and a broken tine added to
the character. I feel privileged to have caught up with this old
fighting buck past his prime. My buddy from St. Francis, a master
guide, estimated that the buck might be as much as 8yrs old. It took me
4 hours exactly to pull and drag this brut out of that big clear cut.
I was completely exhausted when I finally got him in the back of the pickup.
I did all myself, just me the beast and the great outdoors. Truly
one great hunting season. Looking forward to 2004.
Congratulations Jeremy! What a nice buck!
